Whether you're looking for some leisurely riding or extreme, mud-filled adventures, Matabitchuan Lodge has trails for both expert and novice riders. 

 

The Lodge is surrounded by Crown land, with hundreds of kilometers of trails to choose from. Bring your own or rent one from us, you are guaranteed to have some fun. Side-by-sides are welcome, please contact us for more information.

In the winter you can snowmobile over frozen lakes and through trails in the woods...as long as there is snow you can make a path to anywhere.

Temagami is considered one of North America's premier canoeing destinations with over 2,400 kilometers of interconnecting canoe routes and portage trails.

Grab your swim suit and some sunscreen and discover the hidden gems of Rabbit Lake.

FISHING

Northern Ontario offers some of the best fresh water fishing in the world. With a variety of lakes and rivers to choose from you are sure to fill your nets with these northern species - Walleye/Pickerel, Bass, Pike, Lake Trout, and Whitefish.

If you are in the area snowmobiling, feel free to stop by for some ice fishing as well! Depending on weather and ice conditions.

 

Boats, motors and canoes are available for rent, just ask!

Dirt roads, trails and gravel paths wait to greet cyclists and hikers on any sunny morning or warm afternoon. The Temagami area is renowned for its rugged, forested landscapes. Outdoor enthusiast can gear up for some quality back country hiking or cycling.

There is plenty of wildlife in our neck of the woods; deer, moose, bear, and other small game. You won't have to go far from the property to see them.

Whatever type of game you go for, you can find the thrill of the hunt here. ​

 

The Lodge does not have guaranteed moose tags. Adult moose tags are available through the Ontario MNR moose draw (WMU 40).

SWIMMING / BOATING FUN

Looking for something more low-key? Spend a relaxing day down at the docks sun bathing and swimming. 

OR

Strap on some life jackets and head out on the boat for some water skiing or tubing! With a large bay right off the docks you won't have to go far to make some waves and have some fun on the water.

Are you hunting for something different - that perfect shot perhaps? Look no further than the beautiful Northern landscape that Matabitchuan Lodge has to offer. There are plenty of opportunities for you to capture phenomenal photos of the wildlife and the nature that surrounds it. 

The Lodge is surrounded by acres of Crown land, so there is plenty of  forest to explore. You never know what animals you may stumble across; deer, moose, birds.

In the evenings and early mornings the lake or river offers great landscape shots. Come for a visit in the spring when nature is a flutter with new life, the summer for hot days and clear night skies, the beautiful palette of earthy colours in the fall, or the freshly fallen blanket of snow in winter. There is something to find in every season.
